Gotta start somewhere

I've pretty much ran all my life for cardio purposes, but in the winter of 2009 something changed. I got on the treadmill for another typical, slow 2 miler when I ask myself if an 8 min. mile was possible... after all, if soldiers were required to do it I figured it must be some good, strong goal to be able to accomplish. Needless to say, it was the toughest mile of my life up to that point, and I desperately wanted to torch that treadmill once I stepped off. The feeling that followed, however, was one of the most exhilerating, addictive feelings I'd ever had - I had just completed a goal that seemed impossible! So the journey began... in the spring of 2009 with a dear friend on the walking track of our old high school, we trained for our first 10k. Then came another. And another. Slowly that 8 minute mile goal turned into a distance of 13.1 and I planned my first half. Within a year later I began training for my first full. Well, you can't just stop there...
